7th Pencil
“My work is about transformation and the resilience it takes to move through life’s biggest challenges. Some of my key passions include Mental Health awareness, Neurodivergent awareness, Women’s rights, Human rights and Animal rights.
I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that nobody is just "one thing." We are all made of fragments—memories, moods, sharp edges, and soft corners. My art is an attempt to map that complexity.”
I create portraits that break the traditional mold. I love the contrast of graphic straight lines cutting through the soft curve of a face or floral. To me, those cuts and glitches represent the thoughts and experiences that shape us. Sometimes they are colorful and celebratory; other times, they represent the mental battles we fight in silence.
Why "7thPencil"? It represents the tool that bridges the gap between a thought and reality. Whether I’m perched on a ladder painting a three-story mural or working on a canvas in the studio, the goal is the same: to find the beauty in the breakdown.

7th Pencil is a UK-based muralist and contemporary artist with a career spanning over a decade and projects across 10 countries. Her work is defined by its electric, complementary colour palettes.
Raised in North Devon by a single mother, 7thPencil’s journey from a rural upbringing to the walls of major international cities has deeply influenced her perspective. Her work often centers on nature as a source of resilience—a theme that intersects with her lived experience as a neurodivergent woman. By stripping away the daily facades we use to survive, her portraits reveal the raw, intricate layers of the soul.
Whether painting a 200sqm wall for the Mayor of London or collaborating with global brands like Amazon, Kappa, and The Body Shop, the mission remains to democratise fine art. As an active member of the WOM and Matchbox collectives, I am dedicated to creating public works that invite viewers to look past the surface and find strength in the vulnerable, authentic parts of themselves.
Approach
“My paintings embrace the surreal as aesthetic elements, I look at things through a different lens to challenge traditional notions of perfection, normality and beauty. I advocate for celebrating the uniqueness of every individual, questioning stereotypes, and finding beauty in our differences.”.
